ANIMALS IN SC

Information on wild animals in South Carolina

We take care of all wildlife; rats, bats, squirrels, opossum, fox, coyote, birds & snakes.

Raccoons cause considerable damage to turf while foraging for soil-borne insects. They kill poultry and take eggs. Raccoons can damage structures when seeking access for denning in attics or chimneys. They carry rabies, and spread raccoon roundworm and other diseases.

Coyotes can carry many different bacteria and diseases. They can become aggressive towards humans.

Bats are very useful to the population and environment. They help control the pest population. This species is protected by the governing laws with the SC DNR. Pup Season (Mating Season) is from around mid-July to mid-September. During this time, this animal is dependent on its mother for survival.

Squirrels are very outgoing in the spring and summer time. This is when the offspring go out to explore and then the parents begin looking for locations to begin nesting and unfortunately sometimes that is in our attics.

Opossums are very common in residential areas. They look to find left overs and get into trash and can also make its way under your home and start chewing on wires.

Fox are commonly found in wooded areas. They are trying to prey on small animals such as rabbits, chickens, & rats. These animals can carry many different diseases.

Birds can become a nuisance when they begin to build their nesting materials in your garage, overhangs, gutters, and chimneys.

Rats have very sharp teeth and cut their way around just about any type of metal. Rat are very hazardous to your health and can become a fire hazard to your home.

Snakes are very common here in South Carolina. We have many non-poisonous snakes but we do have our fair share of poisonous ones as well.
